ABOUT THE TYPES OF CANCER

cancer-type

Cancer is seen in the inner as well as the outer female genital organs. Cancer in the inner genital organs (the uterus, the cervix uteri and the ovaries) is by far the most common type of cancer, whilst cancer in the outer female genital organs (the lips of pudendum, the perineum and the clitoris) is seen more rarely.

The three most common types of cancer are:
Ovarian cancer (approx. 450 new incidents per year in Denmark)
Uterine cancer (approx. 700 new incidents per year in Denmark)
Cervical cancer (approx. 380 new incidents per year in Denmark)
